Homeroom
Brother Basilio Rueda (BBR) went to Dolores, Quezon last September 14, 2012 to
have its outbound trip. Together with BBR are the outbound instructors from
Lakbay Kalikasan and their Homeroom Adviser Mr. Benjamin Balatbat.
The bus
left at 5:45am despite the incomplete attendance of BBR. The students were
asked to seat in the bus beside their outbound partner. Rules were thoroughly
discussed inside the bus while the students listen and even asked some
questions. The ban on using the word “kulto” was emphasized by Kuya Emman,
their outbound instructor.
After
more than 4 hours on the road, they arrived at Dolores, Quezon. They went up
the mountain bringing only their food for lunch, water and camera inside their
bags. Kuya Emman, asked them to leave their things in a small wooden shelter
before they trek the mountain.
According
to Kuya Emman, it took BBR 30 minutes to climb the mountan. He then added this
was one of the fastest groups to climb the mountain despite the bad weather
that day. Despite the wet and slippery rocks they have to step on, everyone
reached the mountain without any major injuries. There were some reported cases
of small abrasions on the legs and arms though but they were not considered as
fatal. On the top of the mountain, students spent their time resting and taking
pictures for their projects.
After
going down the mountain, they then headed to the cave named Husgado where some
students did not join. Some students were stuck inside the cave for several
minutes but they were able to get out of the cave with the help of the
instructors from Lakbay Kalikasan. They went to the Lagnas River to wash and
clean their bodies afterwards then headed back to the bus.
The bus
left Mt. Banahaw at around 5:00pm. Some bought souvenirs on their way home.
Some watched the movie while some slept as the bus headed back to Marist. They arrived at Marist school at 10:20pm.
